Let’s dive into his story and glean some essential tips for a healthier lifestyle.
Personal Journey into Fitness
Sunil’s journey began back in his school days when he was in 8th grade. He used to participate in school sports days but never won any races. He was always the last one, which subjected him to bullying. One incident stood out vividly: Sunil was drinking Fanta during a sports day, and some seniors came up to him, questioning why he was drinking it. They pointed out that it wasn’t appropriate for a sports event. That day, he lost a 400-meter race and was utterly exhausted afterward, realizing that the drink wasn’t good for him.
Filled with motivation, Sunil decided he needed to change and become fitter and healthier. He had always fantasized about being the sports captain of his school, and this incident intensified his determination. As he entered the 9th grade, he started taking racing more seriously, practicing during breaks and after school.
Surprisingly, during his 9th-grade sports day, Sunil emerged as the fastest boy of the year, excelling in various sports. He even competed against seniors and was crowned the champion of the meet. Moving into the 10th grade, he was nominated and eventually became the sports captain, a position that was specially created for him.
However, during the 10th-grade sports day march, Sunil felt scared and unworthy, which led him to give back his tie and focus solely on sports. This decision was met with criticism, but it pushed him to train harder. His dad played a crucial role by enrolling him in a training program, even though he had to wear his sister’s activewear due to a lack of proper clothes. This marked the beginning of his fitness journey, leading him to where he is today.
Sunil has trained almost 1000 people so far, primarily through online sessions, with just a few clients from Mumbai.
Diet and Nutrition Insights
Being from an Indian society, it’s crucial to understand that wheat nowadays is heavily synthesized and contains a lot of gluten, which causes issues for many people. Breakfast is often considered healthy, but in reality, it can be detrimental, especially when consumed right after waking up. The body undergoes detoxification during the night, and consuming food immediately upon waking disrupts this process.
In his experience, Sunil has found that skipping breakfast and directly having lunch at around 2:30 PM works best. This allows the body to cleanse itself properly. Many people feel lethargic in the afternoon not because of lunch but due to the unhealthy breakfast they consumed earlier.
Brown bread is often marketed as healthy, but it contains more sugar and preservatives. White bread, in fact, is healthier in comparison. It’s essential to eat mindfully and avoid foods that cause addiction, like certain proteins or fruits. For drinks, Sunil starts his day with water and then has a black espresso coffee with cinnamon. Sometimes, he craves an aerated drink, and in that case, he opts for a cold brew with a bit of ginger ale.
Sunil’s approach to food is to eat whatever his mom prepares but in smaller portions. It’s crucial to avoid anything addictive and to focus on balanced meals.

Exercise Insights
For someone who doesn’t exercise, even one minute is beneficial. For those who work out regularly, 1-1.5 hours is sufficient, including warm-up, mobility, and post-workout stretching. It’s more about moving your body according to your goals rather than adhering to a set maximum time.
Ideally, one should work out 4-6 times a week, alternating between cardio and strength training. Integrate physical activity into your daily routine. Even talking about fitness counts as a mental workout.
Motivation and Tips
Sunil stays motivated thanks to his family, especially the women in his life like his mom and sister. Bad times have also played a role in pushing him forward. Ultimately, motivation has to come from within.
For people starting their fitness journey, Sunil suggests beginning with simple changes. If you can’t eliminate sugar, reduce it. Start walking and gradually incorporate workouts. Discipline and consistency are key. Remember, it’s not a sacrifice unless it deprives you of basic needs like food, water, and family.
Tips for Specific Conditions
Girls suffering from PCOS should start exercising, consume the necessary proteins, carbohydrates, and fats, and avoid junk food. Over time, fasting can help manage the condition by reducing cell multiplication.
Ensure you drink 3-3.5 liters of water daily before starting creatine in small amounts. For those allergic to protein and intolerant to glucose and lactose, focus on natural food sources like nuts, soybeans, vegetables, and beans based on your calorie needs.
